Joan Chamberlain, Eugene
Colorful paintings by Eugene artist Joan Chamberlain are featured in the Tate’s Laurel Fisher Gallery September through October 16, 2024.
After 35 years as a dentist in Dallas, Texas, Chamberlain moved to Eugene with her husband in 2022. The green setting of the south hills, along with the surrounding wine culture and floral abundance, reawakened a love of art and painting for Chamberlain. She began to explore still life imagery with a special interest in wine and food.
In 2023, Tate Art Committee members spotted Chamberlain’s work during a field trip to the Eugene Public Library at the annual Mayor’s Art show. Her piece in that exhibit, “Floral Notes with a Lively Finish,” now hangs above the fireplace in our gallery.
More of her work can be seen at www.joancdesigns.com.
