WHITEAKER PRINTMAKERS

Whiteaker Printmakers is a member-supported community printmaking studio in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene, Oregon. While WhitPrint members share studio space, equipment, tools, and supplies, each artist creates unique hand-pulled prints, using preferred methods, materials, and subject matter. Some members practice multiple printmaking processes, while others stick with their favorite one or two. WhitPrint supports nearly all traditional printmaking methods, including etching, lithography, woodcut, letterpress, screen print, monotype, mezzotint, and more. The facility is also equipped for developing and printing photographs from film cameras.

Currently, WhitPrint has a cohort of 14 members, eight of whom are represented in this exhibit:

Studio Director, Heather Halpern enjoys all printmaking, but is currently focused on mezzotint, drypoint, and monotype.

Paul Halpern, Bookkeeper and Studio Hand, makes silver gelatin prints from black and white film.

Lynn Pedersen practices mokuhanga (Japanese woodcut) and etching, as well as ceramics.

Mary Lynn Trader Ishizaki is a book artist, as well as a printmaker, and painter.

Joseph G. Davis has experience with many printmaking methods, but gravitates toward drypoint and etching.

Sandi Bonn specializes in reduction linocut.

Paz Méndez creates linocuts, woodcuts, and screen prints on paper and fabric.

Natalie Hinahara produces block prints and screen prints on paper, fabric, and jewelry.
